Who We Are
Novant Health Rock Hill Family Medicine was founded by Dr. Robert W. Patton Sr. in 1952. Dr. Patton was active for 43 years before retiring in 1995. The practice is built upon a philosophy of providing comprehensive healthcare for the entire family. Novant Health Rock Hill Family Medicine believes that better care can be achieved when a physician understands the latest medical procedures and the personal concerns of their patients. Our physicians and staff are dedicated to maintaining a practice where patients feel welcome, well cared for, and confident that their health is our primary concern.
The concept of family practice is as old as the practice of medicine itself, and yet is one of medicine's most innovative specialties.
Like any other branch of medicine, family practice has its own body of knowledge and training. Family physicians must study six healthcare areas: pediatrics, adult care, surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as psychiatry and community medicine.
Family physicians are extensively trained to give each patient continuing, comprehensive healthcare, regardless of age or sex. In addition, they are committed to practicing preventive medicine. This means that your physician not only strives to get you well, but also to keep you healthy.
